Following the announcement in November 2017 that work has begun on the new Meridian Water railway station, Network Rail caught up with Steve Vidler, Senior Programme Development Manager at Network Rail, and Enfield Council's Consultant Development Manager for Meridian Water, John Baker, to see how the new station is progressing.

The new station, being delivered by Network Rail, will replace the nearby Angel Road station and will open in 2019. The station is expected to serve up to four million passengers, including the 10,000 new homes and thousands of jobs coming forward over the next 20 years as part of the Council's Meridian Water scheme.
