Awards and Recognition for Meridian Water

Enfield Council has received numerous awards for its Meridian Water project. Alongside 10,000 brand new homes, The Council is delivering 6,000 jobs for local people in a new sustainable and inclusive community in Edmonton. Explore below for more information on awards and recognition to date.

2022

  • WINNER – RICS Awards 2022
    The team won the Regional Award in the Refurbishment/ Revitalisation Project category for the new Bloqs open-access factory at Meridian Water, providing affordable workspace for local businesses.
  • SHORTLISTED – Inside Housing Development Awards 2022
    The Meridian Water team have been nominated for the Best Development team in the Urban Category. The winners will be announced in September 2022.
  • WINNER – Planning Awards 2022
    The team won the Award for Promoting Economic Growth, recognising the provision of jobs and economic growth in Edmonton. This has been delivered through fantastic meanwhile uses including Bloqs, the Drumsheds, the Community Chest, the Troubadour Meridian Water Film Studios and the Enfield Construction Skills Academy which will open later this year.
  • Official Opening of Bloqs
    In February 2022 Enfield Council were delighted to welcome Jules Pipe, the Deputy Mayor of London for Planning, Regeneration and Skills to official Open Bloqs- the UK’s first open access factory in the heart of Meridian Water.

  • Pineapple Awards 2022
    Meridian Water was shortlisted in the ‘Creative Retrofit’ category for the reuse, refurbishment and retrofit of the new Bloqs building, the UK’s first open-access factory based in Edmonton.
  • COMMENDATION – Inspire Future Generations Awards 2022
    In December, Meridian Water received a commendation for the Inspire Future Generations Award in Social Value, made possible thanks to the collaboration between Enfield Council and Vistry partnerships. The team was praised for their efforts in community outreach, inspiring and upskilling the next generation of city-shapers in pursuing a career in the built environment.

2021

  • SHORTLISTED – UK Housing Awards 2021 (Campaign of the Year Category)
    Enfield Council were shortlisted for ‘Campaign of the Year’ for its work surrounding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion on Meridian Four in the UK Housing Awards 2021.

  • WINNER – LGC Awards 2021 (Diversity and Inclusion Category)
    Enfield Council were proud to be announced as the Winners of the ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ Award for the procurement processes embedded on Meridian Four. Meridian Four is unique in the wider Meridian Water scheme as it is being led solely by the Council. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion requirements embedded in the application process for architects and the promotion of these values throughout the project won the Council this prestigious award.

  • SHORTLISTED – LGC Awards 2021 (Partnership Category)
    Enfield Council was shortlisted for a second LGC Award for its partnership with social enterprise Bloqs. The Council is proud of partnership with Bloqs which is delivering jobs, skills and affordable workspace for the creative industries on Meridian Water.
