Gather your friends and family at the launch event of Meridian Water’s newest park on Thursday 17 April. From 11am to 3pm there will be a range of free exciting activities for all, including a skate workshop for all ages, plant potting and live DJ music. This is also your opportunity to witness the park’s name unveiling. The park name was recently chosen following dozens of suggestions from the local Edmonton community. The event is free for everyone, and you can find out all the information on the Meridian Water website.
The second round of Meridian Water’s Community Chest is offering £300,000 in funding for projects in Edmonton. People can apply for a share of the funding to deliver projects that will benefit the community, improve opportunities or address health inequalities. There are two grant sizes to apply for. Successful small grants will be awarded up to £10,000 and large grant applications will fund projects between £10,000 and £60,000. Applications must be received by 27 May 2025. The Leader, Cllr Ergin Erbil, recently visited the exciting new development, which is made up of 100% affordable homes. In total, there will be 274 new homes at Meridian Two, and construction is progressing at pace. The development is situated very close to the Lee Valley Regional Park and boasts excellent transport links, including train services from Meridian Water Train Station. The latest addition to Meridian One’s growing collection of residences is Skylark House, which is made up of 26 affordable homes. This takes Meridian One up to 268 homes delivered. Completion of this first phase is due by the end of 2025 with a total of 301 homes. The new residents of Skylark House will join the growing community at one of London’s largest regeneration sites, with hundreds of people now calling Meridian Water home. Two fantastic work placements are available to apply for through Meridian Water’s partners AECOM, who are helping to deliver infrastructure at the site. The placements on offer are a Construction Project Management Summer Placement and an Urban Design Work Placement. The successful applicants will have the rare opportunity to work in the AECOM London office on one of London’s largest regeneration projects, Meridian Water. Enfield Construction Skills Academy (ECSA) has a range of free construction courses starting in late April. Courses include Brickwork, Carpentry, Electrical Installation and Level 1 Award courses such as Construction Skills and Health and Safety. Join hundreds of learners who have already attended the ECSA and gained vital construction skills. The ECSA is located at Meridian Water in Edmonton and is equipped with a range of great on-site course facilities.
