Project Profile

Meridian Two

The Meridian Two scheme is based at the site of the Leeside Road gasholder site which the Council acquired from National Grid. The Meridian Two plot is located within the wider Phase 2 Outline Planning Application, giving outline planning permission for a total of 2,300 homes.

This scheme is set to deliver 274 homes which will be 100% affordable housing.

50% at London Affordable Rent and 50% for intermediate tenures which will include both Shared Ownership and London Living Rent. Construction of homes is set to commence by early 2023.

Following a competitive process, the Council selected Vistry Partnerships as the lead developer for this project. The homes will be acquired from Vistry Partnerships by Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing, a Registered Provider and will own, manage, and market the homes once they are built.

Alongside fantastic new affordable homes, the scheme will deliver 3000m² of commercial space, retained as a Council asset, which the Council hopes will be a hub for creative industries. A Reserved Matters Application was submitted early 2022 and approval received in November 2022. The Council will be seeking an operator to manage the space in due course, with the first homes and workspaces set for completion by 2025.
