Project Profile

Meridian Two

The Meridian Two scheme is based at the site of the Leeside Road gasholder site which the Council acquired from National Grid. The Meridian Two plot is located within the wider Phase 2 Outline Planning Application, giving outline planning permission for a total of 2,300 homes.

This scheme is set to deliver 275 homes (subject to planning permission) which will be 100% affordable housing,

with 50% at London Affordable Rent and 50% for intermediate tenures which will include both Shared Ownership and London Living Rent. Construction of homes is set to commence in mid-2022.

Following a competitive process, the Council selected Vistry Partnerships as the lead developer for this project. A Development Agreement is expected to be signed in Autumn 2021. The homes will be acquired from Vistry Partnerships by Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing, a Registered Provider, who, once the homes are built will own, manage and market them.

Alongside fantastic new affordable homes, the scheme will deliver 3000m² of commercial space, retained as a Council asset, which the Council hopes will be a hub for creative industries. A Reserved Matters Application to be submitted early 2022 and hoping for approval mid-2022. The Council will be seeking an operator to manage the space in due course, with the first homes and workspaces set for completion in 2024.
